Latest wedding news

The Government had set itself the target of permitting ‘small weddings’ to take place by 1 June. However, this was not announced in the Prime Minister’s briefing on the next phase of the lockdown on 28 May and so we have to await further updates from the Government and the next draft of the lockdown regulations.

The diocese are working hard to provide guidance about wedding preliminaries and arranging a common licence when this is possible. This will be circulated in the next few weeks and and updated when further details of any date for worship in church is announced.
